Welcome to Half Moon Bay, a distinctive lakefront community situated along the shores of Castle Rock Lake in central Wisconsin. Our community offers a unique combination of natural beauty, recreation, and a strong sense of neighborhood, creating an exceptional setting for both seasonal and year-round living. With access to miles of open water, scenic surroundings, and a community of engaged neighbors, Half Moon Bay provides an ideal place to enjoy the best of Wisconsin lake living. We are proud to foster a community where lasting friendships are built and generations of memories are made.

The Half Moon Bay community is comprised of 105 properties (83 community lots and 22 condos), all 105 properties are members of the community and have access to all the great amenities outlined below. Condo owners are part of an additional association (with separate dues) which provides: exterior maintenance, landscaping/snow removal, and treated water/grinder pump maintenance.

Community Amenities

The clubhouse is available for all homeowners and guests. Entry to the clubhouse is provided via a unique code given to each homeowner. The recently renovated clubhouse offers:

  1. Mens and Womens restrooms & showers
  2. Large gathering space available for reservation
  3. Variety of seating options
  4. Kitchen
  5. Reading area
  6. Fireplace
  7. Stamped concrete patio with a charcoal grill
  8. Available for reservation for homeowners to host guests

Our heated pool is open during the summer months and available for all homeowners and guests. The pool is accessed through the clubhouse and is open from 8 am to 8 pm with 8-9 am reserved for lap simmers. Lounge chairs, picnic tables with umbrellas, and a screened in porch are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The beach is located directly on Castle Rock Lake behind the clubhouse. This beach and roped-off swimming area is granted to Half Moon Bay homeowners and guests by WRPCO. Half Moon Bay contracts with a vendor to turn the beach several times a season to ensure the sand is kept nice for everyone to enjoy. Lounge chairs are available at the beach as well. When you come back from the beach, please make use of the outdoor shower located near the clubhouse patio to wash off any sand.

Half Moon Bay is unique and fortunate to have 105 boat slips (one for every homeowner) available, which means every homeowner is guaranteed a boat slip on Castle Rock Lake. Boat slips are available in our main marina or in one of the smaller docks scattered throughout the community. Most boat slips within the community will support a boat lift and are available with electricity. Boat slips reservations are collected at the beginning of every year with specific fees to fund the docks, electricity, and any maintenance required. Homeowners can submit requests for more than one boat slip and if not all homeowners request a slip some homeowners can have multiple.

The electronically gated marina (remote provided with your property) offers dumpsters for garbage and recycling for all homeowners (no need to be home on garbage day to take your bins out!), as well as a private boat launch for homeowner use. The marina is also used to store boat trailers during the summer months and boat lifts during the winter months.

Guest docks are available to the immediate right/east of the beach & swim area for short-term use.

Legend Lake was dug out as part of the development of the Half Moon Bay community and is a catch and release pond for HMB owner and guests located at the center of the community. Legend Lake is surrounded by a sandy beach which is combed several times a season and is available for fishing and or recreational sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding, or swimming. The lake is stocked once a year and is fully maintained through testing and aerators, please do not put minnows or other fish in the pond.

Throughout the community you'll see signs marking trails available for community members to explore the wooded areas or gain quicker access from one area to another.

When driving to the clubhouse on Lake View Court, you'll pass two tennis/pickleball courts that are available for members of the community. Next to the tennis courts is a basketball hoop. And then opposite those you'll find a large playground with slides and swings for kids as well as a volleyball net.

When you first drive into Half Moon Bay, to your left you'll notice a several-acre meadow. This area is mowed annually and we maintain a walk path for folks to walk through and enjoy nature. You'll frequently see deer and other wildlife in this area.

While perhaps a bit less glamorous than the other amenities within the community, all properties in Half Moon Bay are part of a sanitary district, which means you don't need to worry about a septic tank or any of the challenges that come along with that. There is an annual fee which must be paid to the district, you can find out more information here: https://townofgermantown.com/departments/#public-works
